EUROPEAN UNION REGULATION ON ENHANCING SHIP
AND PORT FACILITY SECURITY REQUIRES ALL VESSELS
TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL
SHIP AND PORT SECURITY (ISPS) CODE.  SHIPS
INTENDING TO ENTER A EUROPEAN UNION PORT MUST GIVE 24
HOURS PRE-ARRIVAL NOTIFICATION TO THE APPROPRIATE
SHORE-BASED PORT AUTHORITY.
