A MERCHANT VESSEL REPORTED BEING ATTACKED BY PIRATES IN 00-42S 047-58E AT 130446Z NOV, APPROXIMATELY 230 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MOGADISHU, SOMALIA. ONE SHOT FIRED, NO DAMAGE, NO CASULATIES, ONE UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTED BOARDING. SKIFF BROKE OFF ATTACK AND IS NOW THREE MILES ASTERN OF VESSEL. VESSEL IS SURVEYING FOR FURTHER DAMAGE. THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF ATTACKS IN THIS AREA FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS.
