A MERCHANT VESSEL REPORTED COMING UNDER FIRE IN 01-48S 049-01E (APPROXIMATELY 275 MILES SOUTH OF MOGADISHU) AT 180715Z NOV. THE VESSEL WAS ATTACKED BY TWO SKIFFS WHO FIRED AUTOMATIC WEAPONS AND AT LEAST TWO RPG ROUNDS. THE MASTER CONDUCTED COUNTER PIRACY MANEUVERS AND EVADED THE ATTACK. MARINERS ARE WARNED TO STAY CLEAR OF THIS AREA AS IT WILL REMAIN HIGH RISK FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS. WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN CONDUCIVE TO SMALL BOAT OPERATIONS DURING THIS TIME. CAUTION ADVISED.
