THE U.S. COAST GUARD CAPTAIN OF THE PORT OF CAPE CANAVERAL HAS REOPENED
THE PORT ENTRANCE CHANNEL TO COMMERCIAL AND RECREATIONAL TRAFFIC WITH
A DRAFT OF LESS THAN 30 FEET. A SAFETY ZONE REMAINS IN EFFECT CLOSING
THE ENTRANCE CHANNEL TO VESSELS WITH DRAFT GREATER THAN 30 FEET.
VESSELS OF DRAFT BETWEEN 30 AND 32 FEET MAY REQUEST PERMISSION TO
TRANSIT THE ENTRANCE CHANNEL ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS WITHIN ONE
HOUR OF HIGH TIDE. PERMISSION CAN BE OBTAINED THROUGH THE PORT
CANAVERAL BAR PILOTS OR BY CONTACTING THE COAST GUARD AT
904 247 7318. VESSELS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO MEET IN THE ENTRANCE
CHANNEL.
