POSSIBLE HAZARDS TO NAVIGATION MAY EXIST FOR MARINE VESSELS OPERATING IN SHALLOW WATER OR OPERATING BOTTOM DRAGGING EQUIPMENT. MARINERS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT DUE TO HURRICANE KATRINA OFFSHORE PIPELINE OPERATORS MAY HAVE PIPELINES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT EXPOSED ON THE SEA FLOOR. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF DAMAGED PIPELINE FACILITIES IN THE OFFSHORE AND INLAND AREAS OF LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, ALABAMA AND THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. MARINERS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION AND REPORT ANY HAZARD TO NAVIGATION TO THE NEAREST COAST GUARD UNIT.
