WITH THE PASSING OF HURRICANE JEANNE, MARINERS ARE REMINDED THAT AIDS TO NAVIGATION, PARTICULARLY LIGHTED AND UNLIGHTED BUOYS, MAY BE MOVED FROM CHARTED POSITIONS, EXTINGUISHED, OR DESTROYED AS A RESULT OF THE HURRICANE AND ASSOCIATED STORMS. MARINERS SHOULD NOT RELY SOLELY UPON THE POSITIONS OR OPERATIONS OF AN AID TO NAVIGATION, BUT ALSO EMPLOY ALL OTHER MEANS AVAILABLE TO DETERMINE POSITIONS.
