WESTERN SOUTH PACIFIC. NEW CALEDONIA. DNC 06. EARTHQUAKE WITH MAGNITUDE OF 7.6 HAS OCCURRED IN VICINITY 22-06S 169-12E AT 050418Z DEC. HAZARDOUS TSUNAMI WAVES ARE POSSIBLE FOR COASTS LOCATED WITHIN 1000 KILOMETERS OF THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER. TSUNAMI WAVE HEIGHTS CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND MAY BE A SERIES OF WAVES WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE INITIAL WAVE ARRIVAL.
