U.S. MARITIME ALERT 2017-004A. 1. THREAT TYPE: REPORT OF WATERBORNE IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. 2. GEOGRAPHIC AREA: SOUTHERN RED SEA. 3. A MARITIME THREAT HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE SOUTHERN RED SEA, IN YEMENI TERRITORIAL SEA. IT HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED. ON OR ABOUT 11 JUN, THE MARITIME THREAT REPORTED WAS THE DISCOVERY OF WATERBORNE IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICES. EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN TRANSITING THE AREA. FURTHER UPDATES WILL BE PROVIDED WHEN AVAILABLE. 4. ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS ALERT SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO [email protected]. 5. CANCEL THIS MSG 30 JUN 17.
