The available derelict & adrift vessels archive contains 5,973 messages across 30 issue years, from 1997 to 2026. The year links below provide the source and sea-area breakdowns for each period.

The current list includes messages issued from 2024-12-19 to 2026-09-30. A warning can remain in force for an extended operation, so this list is not a list of new incidents.

Adrift
Loose and moving with wind and current — a vessel, container, buoy, log or anything else no longer secured.
Derelict
An abandoned vessel still afloat and drifting, with no one on board.
Last known position
The most recent confirmed position of a missing vessel or person — the starting point of a search.
Semi-submerged
Floating at or just below the surface, so hard to see by eye or radar.
