1. PIRATES CONTINUE TO PURSUE MERCHANT VESSELS OFF THE NORTHEAST COAST OF SOMALIA, APPROXIMATELY 550 MILES EAST OF EYL. A VESSEL REPORTED ONE SKIFF WITH SIX PERSONS ON BOARD, ARMED WITH AUTOMATIC WEAPONS VICINITY 07-11N 058-50E AT 130713Z MAR, THE MASTER CONDUCTED EVASIVE MANEUVERS BY SAILING INTO THE WAVES SO THAT THE SKIFF COULD NOT KEEP UP FORCING IT TO EVENTUALLY ABANDONED ITS PURSUIT. THIS IS THE THIRD REPORTED SIGHTING OF ARMED MEN IN A SKIFF WITHIN A 50 MILE RANGE IN THE PAST FOUR DAYS. WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO REMAIN AT WIND SPEEDS OF TEN TO 15 KTS AND WAVE HEIGHTS AT FOUR TO SIX FEET. MOON PHASE IS A WANING GIBBOUS WITH 94% ILLUMINATION DECREASING TO 80% OVER THE NEXT TWO NIGHTS, LEAVING FAVORABLE NIGHT TIME CONDITIONS SIMILAR TO CONDITIONS DURING THE PAST TWO ATTACKS IN THAT AREA. 2.
