The Tug Miss Peggy sunk with a max potential of 4,000 gallons of diesel aboard, but is not currently discharging fuel. USCG Sector Houston is requesting a NOAA trajectory analysis of a potential release of fuel. Salvage operations are being planned for tomorrow morning 20-JUL-24.

The release was caused by heavy raining overflowing the tanks and a release valve failure. USCG requested information on both product and location jurisdiction.
