On January 31, 2018, the USCG Sector New Orleans IMD received report of a fire and potential discharge from an unmanned production platform out of Main Pass 4, in coastal Louisiana. The platform is operated by Yuma Exploration and Production Company. The fire was determined to be caused by a pinhole leak in the fire tube (burner) of the heater treater, which caught a Conex box on fire. The platform was shut in and the fire was extinguished using a portable pump. No discharge of oil occurred, source and fire secured. Total potential was 16,000 BBLs of crude and oily mixtures. 2.
