   1. In January, USCG Sector Honolulu contacted the Pacific Islands SSC to request assistance facilitating Endangered Species Act Section 7 and Essential Fish Habitat Consultations on groundings of the 52’ S/V ALTEGO II, which ran aground in the vicinity of Lahaina Harbor on January 8. Boom was deployed, defueling operations were conducted, and salvage is ongoing. The SSC notified NOAA trustees, including the Marine Mammal Stranding Coordinator in Maui, and facilitated consultations for response operations.
