In January, USCG Sector Honolulu contacted the Pacific Islands SSC to request assistance facilitating Endangered Species Act Section 7 and Essential Fish Habitat Consultations on groundings of the 52’ S/V ALTEGO II, which ran aground in the vicinity of Lahaina Harbor on January 8. Boom was deployed, defueling operations were conducted, and salvage is ongoing.
