   1. The 90-foot F/V Anna-K was bound for Prince Rupert, British Columbia, when it issued a mayday because of a fire that broke out Wednesday night, August 9, 1995, in Dixon Entrance, 50 miles southeast of Ketchikan. The USCG Cutter Anacapa, with a 41-foot utility boat and a Canadian Coast Guard vessel, responded to the fire. It was brought under control but began burning again while a firefighting crew was aboard inspecting the damage. The vessel suddenly sank Thursday morning about 12 hours after the fire started in 50 fathoms of water with approximately 2,500 gallons of diesel and 150 gallons of lubrication oil onboard. No salvage or pollution response was attempted. The vessel's four-member crew was safely transferred to another vessel. The seas were calm during this response. USCG district 17. Keyword: none.
