   1. At approximately 1400L on the afternoon of July 26, 2010, the 98-foot wooden F/V Cape Cross ran aground on an uncharted pinnacle in Prince William Sound’s Main Bay, Alaska. MSU Valdez notified the NOAA Alaska SSC. Early in the morning of July 27, 2010, the vessel rolled and partially sank but remained grounded. Product on board includes 3000 gallons diesel, 300 gallons lube oil, and 100 gallons hydraulic oil. The fuel tanks appear to be undamaged. With the only reported damage to the engine room, bilge slops were the most likely source of the sheen observed initially. No additional release reported at this time. Salvage crew already on scene. Since Main Bay is the site of one of the major Prince William Sound fish hatcheries, the hatchery will be boomed using prepositioned boom anchors. No immediate assistance was requested from NOAA.
