Tug Chief (Salvage Operation); Salmon Bay, Lake Washington Ship Canal, WA.
Salmon Bay, Lake Washington Ship Canal, WA.
    1. On March 08, 2018, NOAA was contacted by USCG Sector Puget Sound to prepare a Resources at Risk report for a potential vessel salvage operation in Salmon Bay, WA. The Tug Chief sank in November of 2017 near the Ballard Locks in the Lake Washington Ship Canal. It was later refloated but remains a pollution threat.
    2. THREAT: OIL.
    3. POSITION 47.666N 122.393W. NOAA INCIDENTNEWS 9684: https://incidentnews.noaa.gov/incident/9684

Not for navigation. The name is read automatically from official navigational warnings; a common name can belong to more than one ship, and a message may describe work the vessel is doing (cable, survey) rather than something that happened to it. Mariners must use official NAVAREA broadcasts and their national MSI service.
