On January 19, 1996, the tug Jenne Dudley reported that her tow, tank barge PPT 409, had run aground three miles south of Tangier Island, near Tangier Island Light, in Chesapeake Bay, with 23,000 barrels of #6 fuel oil onboard. T/B PPT 409 was subsequently refloated with no damage or pollution. USCG district 5. Keyword: none.
