At 10:00pm on 22 March, 2020, USCG Sector New York notified the NOAA SSC that the 65 ft MV MAYESEA ran aground on Gunnison Beach, Sandy Hook, NJ. Vessel has as much as 150 gallons of diesel fuel on board. No pollution observed as of 23 March at 9:00am. Primary concern is that this area is a known piping plover nesting area. 2. THREAT: OIL.
