On August 29, 2014, a 29 foot recreational boat caught fire and sank in 100 feet of water approximately 3/4 of a mile south of the Watch Hill Lighthouse, Connecticut. 5 persons on board were rescued by a passing vessel. The vessel was carrying a maximum of 200 gallons of gasoline, much of which was suspected to have been consumed by the fire.
