   1. On January 16, 2007 the 480 foot Chinese freighter M/V Tong Cheng, south of Necker Island, reported to USCG Sector Honolulu that its #2 cargo hold has a 2.5 foot fracture and has been flooded with 21 feet of water. The vessel is carrying approximately 372 metric tons of #6 fuel oil and 37 metric tons of marine diesel. The freighter's cargo includes steel pipe and rebar, sodium tripolyphosphate and PVC resin. The vessel's position at 1200 HST Jan. 16 was approximately 20 deg. 37 minutes North and 164 deg. 46 minutes West. The vessel is slowly motoring toward Honolulu for USCG marine inspection prior to entering the harbor to make repairs.
