EFFECTIVE 4 OCTOBER 1977 GUYANA INTENDS TO ENFORCE ITS 200-MILE FISHERY ZONE.  VESSELS
FISHING WTHIN THIS ZONE WITHOUT LICENSE WILL BE SUBJECT TO SEIZURE AND SALE AT AUCTION.
CAPTAINS WILL BE FINED AND CATCHES SOLD.  APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES MAY BE OBTAINED FROM
THE GOVERNMENT OF GUYANA, MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE.  PROCESSING TIME OF APPLICATION IS
APPROX. 48 HOURS AND COST IS APPROX. $1,200.
