Spill from Quarter North Oil Well, Louisiana, Gulf of Mexico. LA, Gulf of Mexico. 1. On January 10, 2022, the USCG Sector New Orleans Incident Management Division (IMD) received notification of a discharge of crude oil and natural gas from a Quarter North well into the Gulf of Mexico. The well and platform were damaged by Hurricane Ida last year. NOAA provided an initial fate & trajectory. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: NATURAL GAS & CRUDE OIL.
