Diesel Spill along Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, New Orleans, LA.
New Orleans, LA, USA.
1. On December 27, 2021, over 7,000bbl of diesel was discharged from a pipeline into impoundments along the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet. USCG Sector New Orleans has determined that the diesel does not have nexus to a navigable waterway and the State is providing oversight of cleanup efforts. On January 12, 2022, the NOAA SSC was notified and is supporting NRDA coordination.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 7000 GALLONS.
