Anhydrous Ammonia Release; Metlakatla, AK.
Metlakatla, AK 99926.
1. Late in the evening of 21-JUN-2024, USCG Marine Safety Detachment Ketchikan contacted their NOAA SSC to request support for a reported release of 1,000 pounds Anhydrous Ammonia at/near the Annette Island packing plant in Metlakatla, AK. USCG contacted the local Fire Department about the release and requested chemical hazard support from NOAA for the air release. Phone support was provided.
