Landing Craft MY MARIE Sunk; Port MacKenzie, AK.
Port MacKenzie, AK, USA.
1. On 7/22/2024, NOAA Fisheries Protected Resources Division contacted the SSC regarding the sinking of the work boat My Marie. The workboat/ landing craft sunk while tied up to the dock at Port MacKenzie in Cook Inlet, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska. NOAA Fisheries is concerned about impacts on Cook Inlet beluga whales, which are listed as an endangered species.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 100 GALLONS.
