Jack-up Rig Parker 14-J Incident; Chandeleur Islands, LA.
Chandeleur Islands, LA.
1. The jack-up rig supports failed. The 41 person crew were airlifted from the rig. A number of injured crew members were taken to a hospital. The rig had a 40 degree list and was partially submerged. A 4 miles long and 200 foot wide sheen was observed. The rig had 220 bbls of diesel and 200 gallons of lube oil onboard.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL OIL AND LUBRICATION OIL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 10500 GALLONS.
