Original warning text

St. Johns River Spill; Jacksonville, Floria.
Jacksonville, Floria.
1. M/V FERN PASSET (based on the best information available at the time.) NOAA personnel onscene: Gary Ott Initital notification of the grounding and potential #6 oil release from the M/V FERN PASSET was provided to NOAA/OAD during the early morning hours of 27 Feb, 87. We have studied the trajectory implications, based on oil lost between the jetty area of the St. Johns River Entrance and 30 degrees, 20 minutes North-81 degrees, 21 minutes West, where the ship is still anchored and losing oil. Oil lost between 2000 and 2300 last night near the jetty would have been lost on a slack going to ebb, optimum conditions for keeping oil out of the river USCG district 7.
2. COMMODITY: #6 OIL.
