Northwest of Bodega Bay, San Francisco, California.
1. On April 21, 1987, the fishing vessel Oregon Beaver reported a black oil slick approximately 22 nautical miles northwest of Bodega Head. The U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office performed an overflight of the area. Following the overflight, the Coast Guard estimated the slick to measure one-half mile wide by 1-2 nautical miles in length. USCG district 12.
