Mystery Oil Slick; Key West, Florida.
Key West, Florida.
1. On May 12, 1987, the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office (MSO) in Miami received several reports from vessels and aircraft of an oil slick. The slick was described by U.S. Navy pilots as being in two large patches located 20 miles south of Key West. USCG district 7.
2. COMMODITY: OIL.
