1. On February 20, 1988, the 153-foot fish processor, Alaska Star, grounded in heavy seas in Nikolski Bay on the northwest side of Umnak Island. The vessel carried an estimated 36,000 gallons of diesel aboard. All fifteen crewmen were rescued by another fishing boat. USCG district 17.
2. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 36000 GALLONS.
