F/V Andromeda; Off Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Off Cape Cod, Massachusetts. 1. On August 8, 1988, the fishing vessel Andromeda was reported sunken in the open ocean 40 miles east of Cape Cod. The vessel's tanks contained an estimated 6,000 gallons of diesel fuel. USCG district 1. 2. COMMODITY: DIESEL FUEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 6000 GALLONS. 3. POSITION 41.788N 069.419W.
