1. On August 19, 1988 the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office (MSO) in Long Beach, California was notified that a tank truck had leaked an unknown amount of its cargo of fatty alcohol on the highway over a distance of approximately 1-1/2 miles before it was stopped by the Long Beach police. USCG district 12.
