1. On February 8, 1989, a City of Newport News employee dropped a flowmeter containing about five pounds of mercury into the manhole of the city sewer system, 100 feet from the Newport News Reservoir. USCG district 5.
2. COMMODITY: MERCURY. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 5 GALLONS.
