Hydraulic Oil Spill; Mobile, Alabama. Mobile, Alabama. 1. On August 12, 1997, a pile-driving vessel located approximately 70 miles south of Mobile, Alabama reported a hydraulic line rupture. An estimated 5,000 gallons of Mobil product EAL-224H, a vegetable-based hydraulic oil, was released at a depth of 600 feet. USCG district 8. Keyword: none. 2. COMMODITY: HYDRAULIC OIL.
