1. On September 3, 1998, NOAA SSC Charlie Henry was notified by MSO New Orleans that an overflight reported a 4 mile by 4 mile slick of unknown origin in Breton Sound, LA. The approximate coordinates of the slick are 29?44.7'N, 89?21.5'W. The slick is reported to be thick with emulsified oil in some places. On-scene weather is light winds from the NNE. USCG district 8.
