Sunken Tug; Chandelier Islands, LA. Chandelier Islands, LA. 1. On the afternoon of 25 May 2007, USCG Sector New Orleans notified the regional NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator of a sunken tug off what was at one time part of the Chandelier Islands. The tug, identified as the BRET HUNTER, was carrying 6000 gallons of diesel fuel and reported to be slowly leaking. The small amount of sheen generated was reported to dissipate quickly. 2.
