1. USCG Sector Honolulu contacted the NOAA SSC on Sunday, August 30 requesting oil fate and persistence information for 500 gallons of Jet A fuel released from a Baker tank that was accidentally dropped from a helicopter one-half nm off the southern shore of the Island of Molokai in the Hawaiian Islands at 1230 HST. NOAA provided phone support.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: JET A FUEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 500 GALLONS.
