TCI Fire; Ghent, NY. Ghent, NY. 1. On August 2, 2012, a fire at transformer recycling company in Columbia County, NY, resulted in a release of an unknown amount of chemicals, including PCB-laden oil and combustion by-products. A 15 mile radius shelter in place warning was issued by the county. NOAA ERD was contacted regarding air plume modeling and chemical sampling priorities. 2. THREAT: CHEMICAL. TAGS: COLLISION. 3.
