Running Free; Marthas Vineyard, MA. Marthas Vineyard, MA. 1. On 10 July, 2013, USCG Sector SE New England contacted the NOAA SSC regarding the 36' sailing boat "Running Free" that grounded on Marthas Vineyard, MA after being abandoned at sea in early May off Bermuda. While the vessel was not a pollution hazard, it grounded near an active colony of nesting roseate terns (state & federally endangered species). 2. THREAT: OTHER. TAGS: GROUNDING. 3.
