Baker Platform Fire; Cook Inlet, Nikiski, AK. Cook Inlet, Nikiski, AK. 1. On October 2, 2014, the "Baker" platform located in Cook Inlet Southwest of Anchorage, caught fire and was evacuated. The platform produces natural gas. Only a small amount of fuel is located on the platform for local power generation--10,000 gallons of diesel and 5,000 gallons of lube oil. The USCG has requested a fate model run and a trajectory for a potential release of the diesel and lube oil. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL AND LUBE OIL.
