Sea Level, NC Diesel Fuel Spill; Sea Level, North Carolina. Sea Level, North Carolina. 1. On September 28, 2015, the USCG Sector North Carolina notified the NOAA SSC of an estimated 500 gallon diesel fuel spill from an underground pipeline at an assisted living facility into Nelson Bay, a waterbody in Pamlico Sound. A clean-up contractor is on scene deploying both hard boom and sorbent boom within the affected area. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL FUEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 500 GALLONS.
