BOPCO platform; Cox Bay, LA. Cox Bay, LA. 1. On November 1, 2015, the USCG Sector New Orleans notified the NOAA SSC about an oil spill that occurred on 30 Oct 2015. USCG confirmed by air that a discharge occurred from a platform and had created an approximate 500'x50' rainbow sheen. 2. THREAT: OIL. TAGS: MYSTERY SUBSTANCE. 3. POSITION 29.474N 089.628W.
