USS HOPPER; Barbers Point, Oahu, HI. Barbers Point, Oahu, HI. 1. On May 24, 2016, the USCG Sector Honolulu notified the NOAA SSC that the USS HOPPER had released 2000 gallons of fuel oil 1-D approximately 50 miles southwest of Barbers Point, Oahu, Hawaii. Trajectory support was requested. Fuel oil 1-D is a type of diesel and would not be expected to persist for more than 24 hours. NOAA trustees have been notified. 2. THREAT: OIL.
