1. On January 31, 2017, the USCG Sector New Orleans contacted the NOAA RRO about a platform leak approximately 3.7 miles south of Port Sulphur. The reported amount of oil in the water and the surrounding marsh is 4 gallons. The source is reported as secure, though the oil was not reported to have been contained. USCG is sending out a team to investigate.
