On December 3, 2017, the NOAA SSC received notification from USCG Sector Hampton Roads about a #6 oil spill during a fuel transfer operation aboard the bulk carrier, Jupiter, in the Elizabeth River, Norfolk, Virginia. USCG requested resources at risk description. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: OIL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 350 GALLONS. 3. POSITION 36.879N 076.326W.
