Broken up vessel "Dickey Byrd"; Santa Cruz, CA, USA.
Santa Cruz, CA, USA.
1. On July 1, 2018, the USCG Sector San Francisco staff contacted their NOAA SSC about the vessel “Dickey Bird” that had been the subject of a search and rescue case, but was now broken up offshore near Grotto Beach near Santa Cruz, CA. The vessel is believed to contain 40 gallons of diesel fuel. Given the proximity to sensitive shorelines, the USCG requested information on oil fate & transport.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 40 GALLONS.
