“Today the USCG reported that the F/V Renee Marie is sunksn and that reports yesterday that the vessel was still at the surface were erroneous. Plans continue to refloat the vessel, pump off any remaining fuel, and scuttle the vessel according to criteria provided by NOAA and other stakeholders.” Current outcome is not independently verified by seahazards.[4]

Source report excerpt: “USCG overflights today revealed that the F/V Renee Marie remains partially submerged at 47 degrees 27.1 N, 124 degrees 33.7 W. Salvors were en route to the vessel this afternoon and USCG Sector Portland requested the NOAA SSC provide recommendations on scuttling locations for the vessel. Recommendations included input from the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, National Marine Fisheries Service, representatives of the commercial trawling fleet, and tribal fisheries specialists.”
