1. THREE VESSELS SEIZED FOR SMUGGLING IRAQI OIL OUT OF IRAQ AND HELD BY COALITION NAVAL FORCES ESCAPED FROM CUSTODY IN OCTOBER. ONE OF THESE VESSELS, 45 METER M/V DASHTY HORIZON, HAD BEEN ORDERED CONFISCATED BY THE BASRA CUSTOMS COURT FOR VIOLATION OF IRAQI LAW CONCERNING THEFT AND ILLICIT TRANSPORT OF PROPERTY OF THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT. THE SHIP'S LEGAL OWNER IS NOW THE IRAQI MINISTRY OF JUSTICE. THE OTHER TWO VESSELS, 68 METER M/V AL MUSTAFA AND 24 METER M/V DARGHAN 7, WERE DETAINED AWAITING CONFISCATION HEARINGS BY THE BASRA COURT FOR ALLEGED THEFT OF CRITICAL NATIONAL RESOURCES IN VIOLATION OF IRAQI LAW AND CPA ORDERS. 2. INDIVIDUALS OR COMPANIES CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITH THESE VESSELS ARE ADVISED THEY MAY BE SUBJECT TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION UNDER IRAQI LAW.
