Discharge of Drilling Mud from Unmanned Platform, High Island 582 Block, Texas. Offshore, TX. 1. On May 26, 2022, an estimated 129 gallons of drilling mud was discharged from an unmanned platform in the High Island 582 block owned by Cox Operating (NRC#1337043). MSU Texas City contacted NOAA SSC for input on fate, trajectory and potential impact to Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary. Phone support provided. Additionally , MSU Texas City asked for input as to whether a unknown sheen reported in NRC#1337165 was potentially connected. Phone support provided, along with follow-up email. 2. THREAT: OTHER.
