Capsize of Sherp All-Terrain Vehicle, Beaufort Sea, Alaska. Beaufort Sea, Alaska. 1. On March 15, 2023, the USCG notified the NOAA SSC that an all-terrain vehicle, a Sherp ATV, broke down and was abandoned on the ice while conducting a rescue. The USCG Sector Anchorage has requested the NOAA SSC initiate an ESA Emergency Section 7 consultation. 2. THREAT: OIL. 3. POSITION 70.154N 145.528W.
